Alanyaspor – Fenerbahce

Alanyaspor hosts Fenerbahce in a game from the 5th round of the Turkish Super Lig.It’s clear what is the main goal for Fenerbahce – stopping Besiktas’ dominance in the league and returning on the top of the Super Lig. But so far they are not doing much great since the start of the new season.Fenerbahce won just 5 points in the first four games, losing their last match against Istanbul Basaksehir at home. It was another sign that Aykut Kocaman’s team is not on the level they desire just yet. The big problem is that nobody is going to wait for them to reach it. Galatasaray already has 8 points advantage in front of Fenerbahce on the top, so there’s no time to waste.As for Alanyaspor, they are currently 12th in the league. They started the season with two consecutive losses, but after that, they won four points in the games against Karabukspor (draw) and Konyaspor (win). Last season Alanyaspor finished exactly at 12th place, so most surely now they will try to improve their performance and at least enter the Top 10. Something more than that? Well, only time will tell.Sometimes it’s not enough just to be a big name and Fenerbahce know it. They are not showing what their fans want to see in the last coupe of years and now it’s time to change some things. They once again brought in some new players during the summer, trying to change their performance for the better. They want to be champions once again, but teams like Besiktas, Galatasaray and Istanbul Basaksehir want the same.As for Alanyaspor, it’s hard to think that they are going to be a huge factor in the league. But they can still surprise some of the big clubs if they underestimate them.
